Sand Creek Massacre Remembered

A memorial trail has been created to honor the memories of the more than 150 Cheyenne and Arapaho women, children and elders who, despite being camped under an American flag, were massacred by Colonel John Chivington and the Colorado Militia on November 29, 1864.
