Just a simple Cherokee trial lawyer, Barkman has been forcing his opinions on others in print since, for reasons that passeth understanding, he was an unsuccessful candidate for state representative in 2002. His philosophy: "If people had wanted me to be nice, they should've voted for me."

Rick Perry Develops the Appearance of a Soul

Orders mandatory HPV vaccination despite the wishes of the Tele-Pharisees that women be forced to die slow and painful deaths from cervical cancer rather than increase the odds that they would have sex by even a little. For those of you who are worried that Rick Perry having a soul is one of the signs of the Apocalypse, fear not! He probably only did it because he is bought and paid for by Merck. Feel better now?

'camel, tent, nose' to the third power, seems to me.

i wonder...

how much each dose costs and who will pay for it?

how many girls will die, or other permanent health consequences from the vaccine? (surely some small percentage will react adversely?)

how many years until the opt-out clause is nullified?

And how long before some drug company, probably using federal tax dollars to fund it's research, comes up with a compound that creates a physical antipathy to smoking or perhaps offsets the obesity gene? Will they also find someone to unilaterally force it's use? Is buying politicians by the truckload just too expensive anymore? (not to mention trying to persuade a populace and/or legislature to enact such a measure using logic and data?)

just where in the hell IS that line between state compulsion and individual prerogative? i know it's been moving around rather rapidly in my lifetime. (draft, abortion, etc...)

Your point about "state compulsion" is well-taken.
