  1. The Prophet Muhammad begins his Hijra from Mecca to Medina (622);

  3. Duwali (Chief Bowles), the eighty-year-old leader of a band of Cherokee and other affiliated tribes, is run down and killed by Texas Militia acting on orders of President Mirabeau Lamar, who despises the Cherokee as Sam Houston's "pet Indians" (1839);
