Just a simple Cherokee trial lawyer, Barkman has been forcing his opinions on others in print since, for reasons that passeth understanding, he was an unsuccessful candidate for state representative in 2002. His philosophy: "If people had wanted me to be nice, they should've voted for me."

What If Bill Clinton...

...had authorized the leak of classified information in order to score political points?

The GOP would have lynched Clinton - and then they would have impeached him for good measure!

Double standards are the hallmark of the GOP.

You shouldn't even try to make relativistic parallels. For some reason they don't apply to this "exceptionalist" administration.

What if The Russians had invaded Iraq based on the same evidence? Or the Chinese? Or the Iranians?

For some reason in the current media culture, this president is largely exempt.

I, too, have noticed this strange phenomenon. That's why "What If Bill Clinton..." is a beloved running feature in this blog. It also works with Hillary, as in "Would you (Republicans) trust Hillary Clinton with the completely unrestrained power to tap your phones without a warrant, arrest you and never charge you with a crime, or even tell you why you were arrested, and lock you up forever without access to courts or a lawyer?" So far, the answer appears to be either "no" or an incoherent sputtering sound.
