I Was Half Right

Contrary to my advice, he vetoed the bill, but added a signing statement anyway.

we were both wrong (or 1/2 right)

but in the age when everything is viewed with an eye towards the next elections (especially Rove's eye), the Veto and the Surge are integral parts of Rove's strategy to set up the "stab in the back" argument for the GOP stalwarts in 2008 and beyond.
