George Will Gets the Vapors
In his latest pronouncement from in high, the Official Spokesnerd of the Republican Establishment denies that any such "establishment" exists, since, after all, wasn't that filthy barbarian Barry Goldwater nominated? In Will's mind, "establishment" apparently is synonymous with "Rockefeller." Likewise, Will sniffs that John Edwards and Mike Huckabee are (*gasp!*) "populists," which evidently means anyone who expressing anything less than unvarnished contempt for the poor. Why. it's so bad, Will looks favorably upon Obama, who is thereby transformed into a grown-up. And nothing, but nothing, gets the goat of Economic Royalist Republicans more than anything that even remotely smells of "populism."

Saw your comment about Coulter's column over on Blue Gal.
At least you can address her noxious views in a public forum (in your community, no less). That could be a good and tasty opportunity.

Well, true, but really what's the point? I don't think Coulter (or O'Reilly or Limbaugh or Glenn Beck or any of the other howler monkeys for that matter) are persuasive at all. They just feed the beast. The people that read and listen to them only do so to reinforce what they already think and these folks are completely impervious to facts.
Just thought it would be cool to open up the dialogue in your community.
I pictured addressing the same stuff Coulter does using, ya know, facts instead of idiocy and lies. Considering that, I realize your column would basically have to be turned in to the Ann Coulter version of Mythbusters.
So...carry on, carry on.
